The Legal department provides legal and closing support to our clients and oversees regulatory compliance matters on a nationwide basis. See Attorneys for biographical information.

The Legal department assists in solving problems that arise in processing, underwriting, closing, funding, and shipping loans. State law issues that commonly arise include homestead and community property issues; outstanding oil, gas, and mineral interests; easements and encroachments; title vesting issues; and the effect of certain provisions in closing documents.

We are a member of the national, state, and local mortgage bankers and mortgage brokers associations; and our attorneys and leadership team actively support all of these organizations. We have been awarded an AV rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest Legal Ability and General Ethical Standards Rating given.

The Legal department regularly issues memoranda of general interest to our clients.
